Three staff members were recognized as Employees of the Year during the September 2019 annual event for the Rio Metro Regional Transit District (RMRTD) and Mid-Region Council of Governments (MRCOG).
The following employees were nominated by their peers for their contributions to the organizations, and received an award of recognition as well as some well-deserved time off.

Grant Brodehl, Special Projects Planner, MRCOG
What Grant's Peers Said: Grant knows his job and is always willing to go above and beyond. He helped complete several grant applications that resulted in Rio Metro receiving over $30 million in federal funding. He is always pleasant and kind, and is never too busy to help.
Denise Kurtz, Dispatcher, RMRTD (bus)
What Denise's Peers Said: Denise is a valuable member of the Rio Metro Valencia County team. She has a fantastic “can do” attitude, and takes pride in ensuring things are taken care of.
Nicole Perches, Program Support Coordinator, RMRTD (rail)
What Nicole's Peers Said: Nicole has a strong knowledge of the Rail Runner history and operations. She is always going the extra 1 ½ miles to make sure both employees and the public are well taken care of.
