July 4th Celebration
The Village of Los Lunas is hosting their annual Fourth of July Celebration and Parade at the Daniel Fernandez Memorial Park. The Parade begins at 9 a.m, and additional festivities at the park begin at 4 p.m. Exit the train at the Los Lunas station and walk about half-a-mile south to the park. Shakespeare on the Rail
The ever popular Shakespeare on the Rail is back again this summer. On the last two Saturdays in June and the first Saturday in July, the New Mexico Rail Runner Express will once again become the stage for an assortment of scenes from the Bard’s plays. On June 20, June 27, and July 4, passengers on the Rail Runner’s #704 northbound and #705 southbound trains will be treated to performances from three of Shakespeare’s comedies. Details >>

Judy Chicago Documentary
On Saturday, July 4, artist Judy Chicago will share “A Butterfly for Brooklyn,” a documentary of her spectacular 2014 fireworks display. The screening will take place at 2 p.m. at the Belen Public Library, and will be followed by a discussion with the artist. A reception with Chicago will take place at the Belen Harvey House Museum following the discussion. The event is free, but space is limited. Call (505) 514-3911 to reserve your space. Take the train!
