The Rio Metro Regional Transit District is committed to encouraging the use of alternative modes of transportation in order to reduce traffic congestion and improve air quality in central New Mexico.
Our Smart Business Partnership Program provides employers from Belen to Santa Fe with resources, tools and incentives to reduce the use of single occupant vehicles and create awareness of public transportation among employees.
Becoming a Smart Business Partner makes your organization a more attractive place to work, can save your organization money and helps the environment. It also makes it easier for your employees to get to work while spending less time and money stuck in traffic.
Businesses can become Gold, Silver or Bronze Level Smart Business Partners. We can help you determine the right combination of commuter benefits for your organization. Employers who participate will receive rewards as well as recognition for being a Smart Business Partner.
Rewards include recognition, free advertising, discounted transit passes for employees and more.
The January 2015 featured Smart Business Partner (SBP) is Carrington College.
Carrington College, a Gold Level partner, joined the program in October 2011. The college promotes the use of alternative transportation to their 60 faculty and 550 students. Many students who travel from surrounding areas such as Santa Fe, Los Lunas and Belen take the train and use a bus connection to reach the college. They assist students by supplementing the cost of their bus passes, providing bicycle racks, and invite Rio Metro to speak about alternative transportation during the many open house events they host each year. Thank you, Carrington College, for being a Gold Level Partner!
